DIRECTOR NOMINATIONS

The last day to nominate an individual for a director position is Tuesday, March 31, 2009.

Positions for Directors:

2. Director of Social Services
3. Director of Qiratul Quran Competition
4. Director of Fundraising
5. Director of Islamic Education
6. Director of Academic Education
7. Director of Dawah and Outreach
8. Director of Brothers Social
9. Director of Sisters Social
10. Director of Ramadan and Iftar Services
11. Director of Publications
12. Director of Technology Services

i) the full name of the person(s) you are nominating
ii) the position(s) that you are nominating the person(s) for
iii) the email address of the person(s)
iv) the telephone number of the person(s)

Members are allowed to nominate an unlimited number of individuals for positions, and can nominate more than one person per position. However, candidates will not be allowed to nominate themselves. If you feel you can contribute, you are encouraged to ask an MSA member to nominate you on his/her behalf.

Those nominated for Director positions are able to accept any number of nominations, and will be informed during the summer period of the appointment made by the incoming Executive body.

ELECTIONS PROCESS
===============================================

Members will be able to read information and answers provided by the candidates online at http://www.macmsa.com. Voting is taking place from March 18, 2009 to March 25, 2009.

The electoral process will function on a rating system to avoid the occurrence of a tie. If candidates are tied in the first ranking, the second ranking will be decisive, if the tie remains, the third, etc…All ballot totals and decisions will be final and as dictated by the CRO and DRO. In the unlikely case that one individual is ranked first for two Executive positions, a decision will have to be made by the elected candidate on the most favorable position, and the person next in rank will be awarded the declined position.

RESULTS ANNOUNCEMENT

The final results for 2009-2010 Executive Positions will be emailed to the MSA body through the MMN by Friday, March 27, 2009.

The annual Quira'atul Quraan Competition is back for 2009! Join us on Sat. March 28th for an unforgettable night of celebrating the holy Quraan! You do not want to miss this action packed night where MSAs from across the GTA and even Ottawa this year will compete for $1,500 prize!  This year is full of exciting changes where we have improved the fomat of the event and added new segments! The competition this year will take place at McMaster University in the Michael Degroote Centre for Learning and Development. So tell all your family and friends and be part of the 11th annual QQC!
