ALL NEW QUR'ANIC ARABIC CLASS AT MACMSA!!!:

‎ - Qur'anic Arabic

FAQ

What are the objectives of this class?

This class will present to the students the fundamentals of Qur’anic Arabic. The aim is to help the students read, have a better understanding of the Qur’an, and pave the way for further studying of the Arabic language and the Qur’an.

I can read the Qur’an Alhamdulillah, but I don’t understand it? Will this class help me?

In-sha-Allah. This class is designed for people like you. The class will equip the students with the tools to understand the language of the Qur’an.

Sounds great! I don’t really feel I would learn by just attending classes though. Will you give us homework to practice?

Of course! At the end of each class, students will be given homework based on the topics covered in that class. The homework will commonly include practice exercises and Arabic words to memorize.

There will be a midterm and a final too.

So do I have to buy a textbook?

The notes that you take in class should be sufficient. The homework found in the book will be emailed to you.

I might miss a few classes because of my schedule, but I am interested in attending whenever I can. Is that OK?

That is fine in-sha-Allah. The material in this class is cumulative, so you will be required to study the material missed on your own.

Add your email to the mailing list to ensure you receive the notes and homework of each class.

So should I expect to be able to read and understand the Qur’an once the class is over?

That is a function of you. After all, it is all about practice.

There is much left to be studied; however, you would be at a much higher level than before.

I’m an Arab, but when I read the Qur’an, I do not understand it. Will this class help me?

You can surely give it a try. You can also email ddad[dot]arabic[at]gmail[dot]com to present you with possible ways you can increase your understanding of the Qur’an.

Unfortunately I can’t read Arabic. Would I be able to understand the material presented in class?

Almost all of the examples given in class will be in Arabic. Students are expected to be able to read those examples. At the very least, students should be able to read a complete word, but not necessarily very fluently.
